Upon your arrival at The Queens Studio, you will be warmly greeted by Audrey,
our rescued Shakespearean dachshund.

Audrey hails from Lake Ariel (yes, as in The Tempest) Pennsylvania
and bears her body in most unseemly affection like her
Shakespearean namesake (in As You Like It).

She is the embodiment of the playful spirit and philosophy of The Queens Studio:

“Dogs invite us not only to share their joy but also to live in the moment, where we are neither proceeding from nor moving toward, where the enchantment of the past and future cannot distract us, where a freedom from practical desire and a cessation of our usual ceaseless activity allows us to recognize the truth of our existence, the reality of our world and purpose--if we dare.”
- Dean Koontz

“I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you… Dogs are my favorite role models. I want to work like a dog, doing what I was born to do with joy and purpose. I want to play like a dog, with total, jolly abandon. I want to love like a dog, with unabashed devotion and complete lack of concern about what people do for a living, how much money they have, or how much they weigh… Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.”
- Oprah Winfrey

"In retrospect, I suppose the biggest risk I ever took was giving up my good job in order to go to drama school at the age of 27. At the time I didn't regard it as a risk. It was simply something that I had to do, or I would spend the rest of my life wondering. Thinking about it now, I suppose I was more likely to fail than to succeed in this business, but whoever it was who said 'it's better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all' got it right."
- Brenda Blethyn

"You do the jobs you're suppose to do and if you're in the right place at the right time, the right thing will happen. You get found when it's time for you to be found."
- Samuel L. Jackson

“Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire.”
- Oprah Winfrey

"We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat. They do not exist…Great events make me quiet and calm; it is only trifles that irritate my nerves… The important thing is not what others think of me, but what I think of them."
- Queen Victoria

“An artist never fails - It is a success just to be one.”
- Charles W. Cooley

"The Queen would venture to warn against too great intimacy with artists as it is very seductive and a little dangerous."
- Queen Victoria

“Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!--

For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,

Is our destined end or way;

But to act, that each to-morrow

Find us farther than to-day.”
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
